| Lost Wax Casting Lost Wax Casting is a process that has been practiced for thousands of years, with the lost wax process being one of the oldest known metal forming techniques. From 5000 years ago, when bees wax formed the pattern. Today I use different gauges of rolled wax wire to make my designs. Which I roll out the ends to make my swirls in my pieces. I melt the wax together with a electric heated wax pen from the underneath of the design. Each piece from start to finish can take up to 2 hours or more to do. I hope this helps you appreciate all the time and work that goes into each and every piece I make. Thanks for taking the time to learn more about my craft. Patti |
